How'd I live without these? (5/5) Apr 12, 2010 Lydia Las Vegas NV US
I used these once and then stood in my kitchen shaking my head at the old "pretty" pot holder gloves, as well as a pair of silicone ones, I'd used for so long wondering what I could re-task them for. These gloves are awesome. They're kindof big, would be great if there were sizes, but they work SO much better than the silicone beasties or cloth pot holders.
Don't bother with just one. Get a pair, especially if you're using a covered bread baker.
Kevlar Mitts (5/5) Apr 23, 2010 Eric Zeiner Claremont NH US
  I'm a retired firefighter.

I believe these mitts are the same liners that we have in our given gloves...outlined in leather.

After receiving these and using them, I threw my other mitts and potholders in the trash...true.

The gloves give you the dexterity not had with a glove or any potholder. Especially useful with the Romertopf or I would suspect the LaCloche.

A superior product well worth the money.

These are really good. Work just the way they should and beat pot holders all the way. Wonderful product.

Great, the only downside is i didn't buy 2, makes life easier and they really do keep off the heat.

Well worth the money.

in an un-bread related accident, i burned my hand while removing my cast iron pan from the oven. i was using a towel but it slipped and i put a horrible burn in the palm of my hand. i used to have an oven mitt but it was so ruined and also didnt work well, i discarded it a while ago.

as i stared at that horrible burn, i remembered these gloves and bought 2 immediately. i just used them for the first time - to remove my romertomf clay baker from the oven. i was able to 'palm' it from the bottom and drop the burning hot loaf of bread into my other gloved hand. this was a dangerous chore with the towel i used to use. i felt no heat at all, though im sure i would had i needed to handle it any longer. i am so glad i bought these, i have enough problems not to need burns on my hands as well.
